  • CCC = inventory days + customer collection days − supplier payment days. A negative CCC is possible: on average the customer pays before you pay the supplier.
  • The euro estimate uses revenue / 365 for receivables and cost of sales / 365 for stock; credit purchases / 365 for payables. Constant daily volume; no VAT, seasonality, interest or growth. It approximates operating working capital, not a bank balance or guaranteed cash release.

How this tool works

The cash conversion cycle is inventory days plus customer days minus supplier days. Each working-capital component uses its own annual base: cost of goods sold for stock, credit sales for customers and credit purchases for suppliers. Amounts are divided by 365 so you can compare terms without treating revenue and purchases as identical.

Common questions

Can the cycle be negative?

Yes. If suppliers are paid later than inventory holding and customer collection together, the cycle is negative. This alone does not prove profitability or healthy cash flow.

Is capital headroom a forecast?

No. It compares scenarios at constant annual amounts. Growth, seasonality, VAT, payment problems and investment are not modelled.
