How this tool works
We check the input before asking the European Commission about registration. You receive the validity, check time and any name and address the register supplies. An outage never becomes an invalid verdict.
Common questions
Is EORI the same as a VAT number?
No. EORI identifies a party for customs operations. VIES checks VAT registration for EU transactions. Ask your trading partner for the correct number.
Why is a name or address missing?
The register does not always make these details public. Registration validity is separate.
Can I check UK numbers?
Northern Ireland XI numbers are supported. Use HMRC’s EORI checker for GB numbers.
What happens during an outage?
You receive no validity verdict and no credits are deducted. Retry the same check later.
